Very central, good value and pleasant staff
Room a bit small, facilities basic
Great location in the heart of Toulouse.
Secure bike storage is up a flight of stairs
The location was excellent, with plenty of facilities nearby. The rooms were small, but very clean.
We are both 70+ and we found that baggage handling at the hotel was difficult as were the bathroom/shower arrangements. We would not recommend this hotel for people who cannot carry heavy bags up steep spiraling stairs.
The location next to Capitol is excellent and it is very convenient for walking in the old town to see the major sights. The staff were helpful. Internet access was only available near to the reception area
I prefer a proper shower to a bath tub with a hand held shower attachment. Internet access/wifi was only available near to the reception area.
Quiet room overlooking courtyard Only a few metres to Place du Capitol
The 22 steep stairs to climb on entering the foyer was a surprise but the lift to upper floors was good
There is nothing about the Hotel du Taur that would persuade me to stay there again. It's a back-packer's hotel, in my view. It's in a depressed part of the town, where people- possibly students are noisy all nightl. Facilities are poor, but clean.
My boyfriend and I were only visiting friends who live in Toulouse for one night. We loved the location as it was right down town and that the security was very good. There was someone 24/7 to let you in vs. Using a key to get in the front door.
The floor was on an angle of course making all the furniture on an angle as well. It was very strange to sleep in a bed this way. The hotel is very old and obviously needs to be renovated and the foundation has shifted over the years causing foundation cracks in the walls and ceilings. We didn't expect anything fancy, but we certainly didn't expect a room on an angle.
The hotel was in an excellent location- almost on Capitole, within walking distance of most of the tourist attractions and shops. The rooms look out over a central courtyard- ours had a balcony but we could not use it as it was in a poor state of repair and we were told they were working on it (they weren't during our stay). Plenty of hot water, although you had to be patient as it took awhile to come through. The reception staff were always very helpful- the mature lady who checked us out even insisted on carrying one of our cases down the stairs. Had clean towels every day. Reception manned 24 hours
The room was small and quite shabby and generally needed a make-over- for example the wallpaper was torn in the corner, carpet didnt look that clean. The bathroom was small and the shower cubicle tiny- would have been no good if you were a bit overweight! A kettle /tea coffee facilities in the would have been useful Breakfast was 9 Euro which we felt was a bit steep so we only had it one morning.
style and decor, central, friendly
Excellent central location, close to parking, shops and restaurants. We paid extra for a larger room, and were delighted. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel for a "value for money" one night or weekend stop.
Difficulty for disabled people to access reception
Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location, surprisingly very quiet. We had a superior double facing a courtyard and heard nothing. Did not have breakfast, so cannot comment. Smallish bed, but very comfortable and clean room, etc. Nice decor and free pc and vending machine...
The location is great, it is relatively quiet and rooms are fine.
The location is perfect.
The lift do not go all the way down to ground floor so if you have problems walking in stairs this is not the hotel for you.
The location. 24Hour reception. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast facilities. Cleanliness. The hotel is in a building which reflects the surroundings of the "old town". It is typically French but the staff speak very good English and I felt safe and comfortable there. I was in a single room which had a 3/4 bed and plenty of space. I stayed for 2 nights which was fine. It was hot on first night and although there is no air conditioning there is a fan provided in the room.
Saturday night was noisy with the windows open as there were late revellers in the square and passing by. Sunday night was absolutely fine in that respect.
